Undergraduate Students

Brian Garcia is an Undergraduate Research Assistant at New Mexico State University. He is pursuing his B.A. in Counseling and Community Psychology with aspirations of becoming a licensed mental health counselor. Brian’s professional goals center on working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. He is especially passionate about incorporating expressive arts into therapeutic practice, including dance, art, and play therapy. Sarah Dawson was an undergraduate research assistant during Spring 2025. Her main role in the lab was learning more about the research process, giving her opinion and helping with the overall development of surveys for data collection. Her research interests include improving advocacy for others in the workplace as well as in daily life. In her free time she enjoy baking, cooking, and playing games with her kids and husband.
